Our Story

Hey there!

We are Shawn and Carie Huston, the owners of Matthews Flower Farm.

Originally established as Matthews Iris Garden in 1953. It all began when Carie’s Uncle Charlie, at the young age of 7, gifted iris bulbs to his grandmother, Anna Matthews, which he planted in her backyard. The irises flourished and multiplied, marking the start of our family's floral legacy.

Uncle Charlie's first flower planted in honor of his Grandmother still blooms today.

Initially, Irises were the main flower bred, planted and sold at Matthews Iris Garden. Throughout the years, many rare and colorful Daylilies had been added. At Matthews Flower Farm, we pride ourselves on providing a wide selection of high-quality blooms and have added a variety of cut flowers since it’s start 70 years ago.
